Facilitating Account Startup Activities

Account Startup Process A new organization was established to craft information technology solutions for customers. Because the responsibilities were varied, most new employees needed training and job aids for at least some of the activities. To make this information available, job tasks were divided into five phases.
Supporting Sales Activities The first phase of the manager's involvement with customers began during the sales process. The account startup manager was involved to evaluate the customer requirements and help put together a team responsible for developing an effective solution to win the business.
Employees could go to the web site and select to the desired task listed on the chart for each project phase.
For example, to get contact information for selecting the project team, the startup manager would select the task "Involve Other Service Areas."
